Economic Trend #1
Interest Rates are Rising

b.) I believe this is an opportunity because people are going to be asking for the same loans and people are going to be making more money on return from the loans.
c.) The customer will be people who will be taking loans out for houses, cars, furniture and any major buyings that require money people cant put out up front.
d.) As an individual it is going to be tough to exploit because if you will be the one giving out loans, you will have to have a lot of capital. In order to exploit this opportunity, it will be down the road for most individuals.
e.) I saw this opportunity because eventually I see myself as an investor and will have high amounts of capital. A lot of people will look at this as a negatvie because they will never be giving out loans.

Economic Trend #2
Economy is in the expansion phase of the business cycle
a.) https://www.thebalance.com/top-usa-future-economic-trends-3305666
b.) This is an opportunity because people can feel safe and secure with their money and can take riskier risks and recoup faster from any failures.
c.) People who have passion to invest can take the time to research and exploit this opportunity.
d.) This opportunity is easier to exploit than others because there can be all kinds of investments. People with just a couple of hundred dollars can make an investment into the US economy and get a profitable return.
e.) I saw this opportunity because I love the fact of investing. As soon as I can I will be taking advantage of the great economy I am in today.

Regulatory Trend #1
Baby Boomers are Retiring
a.) https://www.thebalance.com/top-usa-future-economic-trends-3305666
b.) This is an opportunity because retirement has a lot of open doors to make money. Elderly people need a lot of help everything from retirement homes to transportation system to diapers can be profitable.
c.) The customer is simple, baby boomers.
d.) This opportunity is easy because there are so many different ways to help elderly people. You could own property and rent out a vacation rental to a baby boomers vacation home or so much more.
e.) I saw this opportunity because I live in one of the top retirement communities in the States. Sarasota, Fl has already a bunch of retirees and I see the opportunity to exploit.

Regulatory Trend #2
Voice Commands
a.) https://startups.co.uk/tech-trends-2018-voice-recognition/
b.) This is an opportunity because voice command is so easy and simple, high technology can have voice commands pretty much do any task for us.
c.)The customer right now are people who like to search up everything to know it. Alexa has a search engine and provides every answer. For the future, a robot could literally form every task for us.
d.) This opportunity will be extremely hard to exploit because it is a very specific area of specialization and it will take years to learn and accomplish.
e.) I saw this opportunity because I remember listening to Gary Vaynerchuk. He said voice command is going to be the new google and if you think about it he is right. Amazon is ahead with Alexa and this opportunity (specifically for highly specialized people) is great for upcoming years.

  1. Hey Thomas,

I agree with everything above, but especially the opportunities involving the aging population. Although birth rates and life expectancies experience slight changes as time passes, it's an opportunity that will always be present in some form. I briefly lived just north of you in Englewood and saw first-hand the types of communities you are referring to. Positioning services to that demographic is certainly different than positioning to other age groups, but the opportunities are there.

  2. Hi Thomas, all your economic and regulatory trends are great! It's very realistic and it affects everyone ranging from needing a loan to someone who retires. I'm really impressed with how you were able to turn the tables and view interest rates as a positive outcome. Most people (including myself) thought that this would have a negative impact (which it does). I just didn't see the other party such as a bank who will profit more from an increase in interest rates. I do also agree that baby boomers aging can have great opportunities associated with it.
